260 The Yeomen of the Guard
Sullivan

The 1st and only appearance from Arthur Sullivan, with this new entry.

The Yeomen of the Guard was the eleventh of fourteen collaborations between composer Arthur Sullivan and librettist W.S. Gilbert. Set in the Tower of London during the 16th Century, the opera is one of the darkest the pair ever produced, though there are flashes of Gilbert's usual use of puns and biting satire in the libretto.
